We have the following activities:
*The Home Preschool Curriculum as of 8/24/09. This is for children 3-5 but I will start them at 2.5. This curriculum will be by request only.
http://www.preschoolcurriculum.com/
*Children will learn at their own pace. Everything they do is a learning experience. Through continual interactive play (such as puzzles, games, role play, nursery rhymes, dancing, flash cards, arts n crafts, etc) targeted weekly goals will include physical activity, awarenss of their world, shapes, colors, alphabet, numbers, development of motor skills, and comprehension. There wont be any testing or grading, only a discussion of their skills and what they have learned at the end of the year.
I do allow Educational TV(Blues Clues, Dora, Diego, Sesame Street, etc)..
Lots of outside play when weather permits....high ozone days will be very limited. We will go to a playland to play inside for a couple of hours. I will not take the children to the pool unless they can swim without flotation devices. If they can not swim, they must have a swim vest that is approved by the US Coat Guard(Target/Walmart). It will say so on the inside. I will have other water related activities too.....sprinkler, slip and slide, sqirt guns, etc.
There will be 1-2 hours of rest(nap) time or quiet play depending on the age of the child
*We will make crafts with Santa Claus and Easter Bunny themes
**Activities after business hours, on weekends, school holidays, snow days and vacations will be mostly play time. I feel that they have enough "class time" during regular hours. They need a break too.
